New job

This has been a hell of a year, and it's only August. My software business lost a major client and couldn't find an replacement. This was right after spending a significant amount of money on exhibiting at a small business conference, so I didn't have any reserves to draw on.

I ran out of money and had to break my lease. I moved to North Carolina to stay with my parents. It was a difficult transition.

After a month there, a friend reached out to invite me to apply for a role with the University of Florida. I went through the process and wound up being offered the job. I start on Friday.

After a couple of paychecks I should have the money to get another apartment. I'm looking forward to having my own space again. I'm looking forward to reconnecting with friends. I'm looking forward to a bit of stability.

Things have been pretty chaotic, and while I value my independence, I could do with things being a bit less stressful for a while.
